.A New Tool to Help Girls Reach Educational Goals
New York, NY – August 21, 2018
EdCo and Girls World Expo have joined forces. This will provide audiences with access to technology that will help them raise much-needed funds for educational needs. The nationwide conferences, now in 27 cities, empowers and inspires girls to declare their dreams and set them into motion. One key factor is missing — how to pay for these dreams and plans. When a child asks the principal to start an all-girls robotics team, environmental club, or a trip to Montreal for French, now she has a vehicle to solicit funding.
As school budgets shrink or are already under-funded, extracurricular activity costs become the responsibility of parents. Traditional fundraising activities don’t usually meet goals. Girls World Expo chose to partner with EdCo. They are the only online fundraising platform designed to help K-12 teams, schools and clubs.
Varinda Missett, President and Founder of Girls World Expo explains, “We chose EdCo to complement the toolkit of skills and knowledge our events are designed to impart to girls, ages 11 – 18. Fundraising and seeking support from their communities to help them achieve their school groups’ goals builds their confidence while strengthening their organizational, budgeting and writing skills. And, should they hit their fundraising goals, they get to experience the joy of working with others to bring a dream to fruition.”
“We are excited about our partnership with Girls World Expo and to add to the list of wonderful things that they are already doing for thousands of girls each year.” says Nathan Spevack, Manager of Strategic Partnerships for EdCo. “Partnerships like this ensure we’ll help more students, teams and groups throughout the country a lot faster than through traditional marketing.”
EdCo is an online fundraising platform for K-12 schools, teams, and clubs. Their goal is enabling sustainable fundraising year over year. EdCo helps faculty, students, and parents become passionate fundraising dynamos. Fundraising is fun and easy for them to attract and engage donors. Learn more at ed.co.
About Girls World Expo
Girls World Expo is a very personal venture that grew out of what we saw in the lives of our daughters; too many negative influences and far too few positive. We saw vulnerable young women at a crucial stage in their lives whose self-images and self-esteem had to struggle against unflattering or unattainable media portrayals of perfection, lack of visible high achieving female role models and hurtful comments and criticism from peers. The negative impact of much of this was amplified by the prevalence of social media as a means of communication. Learn more at girlsworldexpo.com.
